The PAYETTE OpenLAB internship program is a select group of architecture students chosen for the OpenLAB Boston Studio, a semester-long academic and professional program run by PAYETTE in partnership with the Virginia Tech School of Architecture. During the fall 2026 semester, participants will live in Boston and work within PAYETTE’s office, collaborating with architects, mentors and designers in a professional setting. Alongside this experience, students will complete three integrated courses that strengthen their knowledge and connect it to real-world practice.
Students from Mississippi State, Virginia Tech and Hampton were accepted to participate this fall. The three students from Ҵýapp are third-year architecture students Tess Higginbotham, John Sasser and Miles Williams.
The President and CEO of PAYETTE, Kevin Sullivan, said that these students’ portfolios, “were very solid, and they will fit right in.”
“We are excited to have your students join us next year,” Sullivan said in his email to School of Architecture F.L. Crane Professor and Interim Director Jassen Callender.
